About Alia
I am a Mathematics tutor with over 5 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics. I specialise in introducing advanced high school and early university students to mathematical logic and proof theory. My teaching focuses on formal reasoning, propositional and predicate logic, and foundational set theory. I use engaging paradoxes, thought experiments, and problem-solving exercises to make abstract concepts tangible and exciting. My teaching approach in Mathematics is highly structured, focusing on building strong foundations before moving to advanced concepts. I cover core topics as well as related areas such as algebraic foundations, calculus concepts including differentiation and integration, geometry proofs, and probability and statistics applications. Each lesson is carefully planned to build upon the previous one, ensuring a smooth progression. I emphasise understanding over memorisation, guiding students to grasp the “why” behind every formula and method. I work closely with students who aspire to become actuaries or problem solvers, tailoring my guidance to match their goals. Practical examples and real-world applications help make abstract concepts clear and engaging. Assignments and exercises are used to reinforce learning and track progress. I focus on developing problem-solving skills alongside theoretical knowledge. Every session is adapted to the student’s pace, ensuring concepts are understood deeply and lastingly. I encourage curiosity and independent thinking, helping students approach challenges with confidence. My aim is to support students in excelling academically while cultivating a genuine interest in mathematics.
