About Briar
I am an ESL tutor with 10 years of experience teaching high school and college students, dedicated to helping learners develop fluency, confidence, and academic success in English. My teaching philosophy emphasizes personalized learning, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to the student’s unique needs, goals, and learning style.
I integrate grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking exercises with interactive activities and real-life examples, making lessons both practical and engaging. I follow a C³P methodology: Creativity, Communication, Compassion, and Problem-solving to teach ESL in an engaging, supportive, and practical way. Creativity is encouraged through role-plays, projects, and storytelling exercises, helping students build language skills while thinking imaginatively.
Communication is central to my approach, with interactive discussions, debates, and presentations enabling students to improve fluency, listening skills, and confidence. Compassion ensures that lessons are adapted to individual learning styles, with encouragement and guidance fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Problem-solving is integrated using scenario-based tasks, real-life exercises, and critical thinking activities, allowing students to apply English logically and creatively. Beyond ESL, I also teach complementary subjects such as vocabulary development, essay writing, and reading comprehension to strengthen students’ overall academic abilities.
