About Vivian

Vivian is an experienced fashion designer and educator with over a decade in the fashion industry. She holds a Master of Design from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design from Raffles College of Design and Commerce. She also completed studies in Textiles and Design, Design and Technology, and Costume for Performance at TAFE. Vivian has worked across all areas of the fashion spectrum, from couture bridal and high fashion to menswear and fast fashion, collaborating with major international and Australian fashion houses including Vera Wang, Chanel, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Akira Isogawa, among others. She has also showcased her designs at Australian Fashion Week and worked alongside the Australian Fashion Council. In addition to her design career, Vivian served as the Head of Fashion Design at the Fashion Business Institute, where she led programs that trained the next generation of designers and guided them through the realities of the modern fashion industry. Through her namesake couture label, Vivian continues to create custom-made bridal gowns and couture pieces, while sharing her extensive industry knowledge with students and aspiring designers.

About the lesson

Vivian offers personalized fashion and design tutoring for Textiles and Design students, emerging designers, and adults pursuing a career or passion in fashion from all levels. Her lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and may include: • Fashion illustration and design development • Building collections and design concepts • Pattern making and garment construction • Technical packs and production processes • Couture sewing techniques and finishing details • Portfolio development and presentation Vivian’s teaching focuses on helping each student develop their creative identity, build professional design skills, and gain the confidence to pursue their dreams in the fashion industry.
