About Jiao Li
My name is Jiao Li Guzman, and I am currently a Finance Major college student. I enjoy music, reading, martial arts, cooking, and video games. I have been tutoring since high school, and I am an encouraging and optimistic person. I am very effort and goal driven. I believe that trying your best is a success in itself, even if you didn't reach your original goal. As long as you try your best, you are bound to find the success in your next attempt. I like to ask my student how they prefer to be taught because everyone is different and learn in different ways. I can do visual learning/interactive learning so making an activity where there is active problem solving and applying the knowledge. However, I also can do straight presentations and comprehension learning for more independent students. A typical lesson plan would be to break down the issues in parts, start with the terminology, and explain step by step on how to solve/the answer to the question. Have them repeat what I say back for comprehension, then asking them again what they remember. The concepts they don't remember or have trouble understanding we go over again and explain. The lessons are typically for high school/middle school students and first year college students. Math courses (Algebra 1-2, Geometry, Probability & Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Accounting), English Courses (British Literature, Language and Writing, Creative Writing), Science Courses (Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy), Foreign Language Courses (Spanish), History Courses (Global History, US History), Additional Courses (Psychology, Philosophy, Microeconomics, Excel Competency)
