About Tan

Hi! I’m Wei Qie, a recent First-Class graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Biotechnology and a CGPA of 3.83/4.00. Throughout my university studies, I have always enjoyed sharing what I know and helping my classmates and younger family members understand topics that they find difficult.

Although I am new to formal tutoring, I have gained experience explaining lessons, discussing questions, and guiding others through challenging topics. I believe that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a friendly and comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions without hesitation.

I would like to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand something that initially seems difficult. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence and deepen their understanding of the subjects they study.

I look forward to working with students and supporting them in reaching their academic goals!

About the lesson

I believe that effective learning comes from understanding concepts rather than memorizing facts. My teaching approach focuses on explaining topics in a clear, step-by-step manner and helping students connect what they learn to real-life examples whenever appropriate.

For Science and Biology, I emphasize concept understanding, diagrams, key terminology, and exam answering techniques. I also guide students through practice questions and help them identify common mistakes. For language subjects, I focus on grammar, comprehension, vocabulary and improving confidence in using the language.

A typical lesson lasts 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the student's level and needs. Lessons usually include:
• Review of previous topics
• Explanation of new concepts
• Guided examples and exercises
• Practice questions and discussion
• Summary and identification of areas for improvement

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Industrial Biotechnology) with Honors. During my studies, I gained experience explaining scientific concepts to classmates, assisting younger family members with their studies, and presenting research projects in academic competitions. These experiences helped me develop patience, communication skills and the ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple and understandable way.

My lessons are suitable for:
• Primary school students (Science, Mathematics, English, Bahasa Melayu)
• Lower secondary students (Science, Mathematics, English, Bahasa Melayu)
• SPM students (Science, Mathematics, English, Bahasa Melayu)

I welcome students of different learning levels and will adapt the pace and teaching style according to each student's needs and goals.
