About Xav

Hi, I’m Xav — a friendly, reliable, and results-driven tutor with a First-Class degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol. I’m passionate about helping students reach their potential, whether that’s building essay-writing skills, boosting confidence in class, or preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or university. I know that every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to suit each individual, whether you need structured guidance, help tackling tricky topics, or just someone to keep you on track. Having supported students from a range of academic backgrounds, I understand how to clearly explain concepts, build motivation, and keep lessons engaging. I’m approachable, patient, and committed to helping you succeed. Whether you’re aiming for top grades or trying to build confidence in a subject, I’m here to help. So let's get started!

About the lesson

I take a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring, tailored to each student’s needs and goals. My teaching style is friendly, encouraging, and focused on building both subject confidence and academic performance. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps and use real-world examples to make learning more engaging and memorable. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and attention span. I hold a First-Class degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol, and I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students across subjects including politics, economics, history, English, and essay writing. My academic background, combined with strong communication skills, allows me to support students preparing for exams, coursework, and university applications. My lessons are ideal for secondary school, sixth-form/college students (ages 14–18), as well as all university students, though I’m happy to adapt for others on request.
