About Issael
I am a fourth-year medical student at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine currently completing a Master of Public Health. I have experience tutoring students in physiology, pathology, epidemiology, biostatistics, and standardized exam preparation.
My teaching style focuses on clarity and structured thinking. I help students move beyond memorization by building frameworks that make complex material easier to understand and apply. Whether preparing for the MCAT, USMLE/COMLEX, or strengthening foundational science knowledge, I tailor each session to the student’s goals.

My lessons are geared towards high-school and university undergraduate students pursuing degrees in STEM or pre-med.
I like to start my lessons by identifying the goals of the student and creating a tailored plan to achieve them.
My lesson plan includes subject material from the course with problem sets to identify weaknesses. I also teach students how to use Anki - a spaced repetition algorithm for maximum retention of information.
