About Elin
My name is Elin, and I am a fourth-year student at the University of Virginia majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Business. I have a strong academic background, having been a high school honor student and completing advanced coursework in mathematics, including Honors Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB and BC. I also served as a National Honor Society tutor during high school and currently maintain a 3.8 GPA at UVA.
I am a patient, reliable, and dedicated tutor who values creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take care to adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s individual needs. My goal is to help students strengthen their understanding while developing positive study habits that support long-term success. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, working out, and reading!

I currently maintain a 3.8 GPA at UVA. As a tutor, my approach is patient, encouraging, and structured, with a strong focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorizing steps. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable pieces and adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and needs.
What sets me apart is my strong academic background combined with a calm, supportive teaching style. I understand how challenging math and science can feel for students, and I strive to create a learning environment where mistakes are part of the process and confidence can grow.
Who My Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students, particularly those studying: Arithmetic, Algebra, and Pre-Calculus foundations. I offer tutoring primarily online, with the option to meet in a public setting near the UVA Corner area.
