About Sophie
Hello! My name is Sophie and I am a fully qualified primary teacher in French medium, from Canada. Recently, I moved to Scotland and I am working as a tutor in order to get to know the Scottish system better, but also to offer my help as an extra pair of eyes.
As previously mentioned, I come from Québec, Canada. I've lived in Scotland priorly and moved back at the beginning of the summer. I grew up in a Québécoise culture, making me a French native speaker. I moved to Scotland in order to become a French teacher in Secondary schools.
Since 2014, I have been working in classrooms as a supply teacher, a cover teacher, a tutor and a full time primary teacher. In 2020, mid-pandemic, I graduated with honours in a Bachelors of Education in Preschool and Primary teaching from Université du Québec en Outaouais. Previously, I completed a college degree in modern languages, learning Spanish, German and Mandarin.
I am dynamic, light-hearted and sensitive to students' needs. I love teaching and I believe to be a good teacher as well. I engage students in significant work and activities, as well as creating a solid student-teacher relationship. When tutoring, I allow myself to share progress and work with parents or guardians through emails or orally.
Finally, I hope to be able to bring a little boost to your child's education, as it is my main goal in life.
