About Sophie
I am a French native and began my teaching career in France. I moved with my husband to the UK in 2009 and I’ve been teaching here ever since. I successfully completed my PGCE in 2012 and have since worked across a number of industries from education (colleges, sixth Form), finance (KPMG), food & beverage (Diageo) and government (MoD). I have successfully prepared a lot of students to take various exams such as GCSE and A levels ( former and new), DELF/DALF, Eton entry exam and the MoD Multiple Assessment exams accordingly to the requirements of these exams as well as the individual needs of my students.

While following the curriculum requirement I create tailored-made course materials, creating differentiated materials, activities and learning outcomes to ensure that the more able students are stimulated and the less able have the best possible chance to achieve their learning goals. The materials I have been using have enabled my students to develop their four core skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing) while always having a particular focus on productive and receptive communication. I don't believe it is truly possible to "master" a language without being able to interact with it and I have always developed my course materials with this in mind.
Furthermore, the materials I create and use are as often as possible extracted and adapted from authentic documents (news videos, articles etc) to expose students to the contemporary language use and to enlarge their understanding of French culture.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Sophie was my French teacher for 2 years on a one to one basis. I needed to learn French for my work and I had regular (3 times per week sessions) to get up to speed quickly. Sophie was brilliant. Very friendly and approachable and an exceptional teacher. She created lots of material specifically for me and it really helped to improve my French. I really can't recommend her enough.
