About Amber
I earned a B.S. in Molecular Genetics from Ohio State and coauthored two behavioral neuroscience studies after. Through my side-roles in grassroots political organizing, I've also led intensive study groups into history and politics, through which I've been invited to regularly guest-lecture for Intro to Sociology at Columbus State. I'm currently taking a break from academia and seeking the flexibility of tutoring before applying to PhD programs.

As a researcher with ADHD, I understand the importance of developing study strategies you'll *actually* stick to, as well as the power of "semantic learning"— storytelling and connecting concepts to a student's personal interests is proven to deepen their understanding and memorization of the material.
I'm also queer/disability-friendly and a first-gen graduate, so I'm happy to provide more general mentorship about navigating academic environments that aren't really built for us.
But for what it's worth, my communication style is very casual— not condescending or exhaustively cheery like a pre-K teacher.
I see you as an equal with just as much knowledge to share with me on other topics, so I'm just here to share some fun facts and new ways of looking at things.
