About Michael

I'm a British Columbia certified school teacher with an extensive background teaching ESL in Canada and Europe. I am TESL certified and current with TESL Ontario. My degrees are in English, History, and Education. I have also received professional theatre training and have worked as an actor and jazz drummer. I have many years of experience helping people improve their command of English.

About the lesson

As I teach one person at a time, I favor the application of the method each student responds best to. I've used the Direct Method at Berlitz and favored the Communicative Approach for many years after TESL training. Inquiry and presentation-based learning have worked well for many students also.

Deadly! My English is in advanced level, and it is difficult for teachers to find mistakes in my pronunciation. Michael meticulously and patiently listened to me speaking and pointed out many mistakes nobody ever told me before. He has a flexible teaching style, which allows him to accommodate each student's learning needs. I also liked how he answered my vocabulary and word choice questions. Above all, he has a delightful personality, which makes classes super fun and enjoyable.

Deadly! Micheal is by far one of the greatest teacher I have ever encountered. Micheal is not one of those tutors that only able to provide fixed lessons with a very routined outlines that may not fit to all students. Micheal is very knowledgeable and capable to teach everything that is English related. My needs are very specific and Micheal is able to provide tailored lessons to me based on my needs with very up-to-date ESL materials. His ears are very sensitive to sounds, making him the perfect teacher when it comes to pronunciations. Micheal is very responsible to his students, as he is always prepared and focused during class. I would definitely recommend anyone who needs help with English to book a free 1st lesson with Micheal and I’m confident that he will be able to help you grow and improve your English at any level.
