About Vicky

Hi! My name is Waqar Ahmed and I am a first-year BSc IT and Cybersecurity student based in Stoke-on-Trent. I am passionate about technology, problem-solving and helping young learners discover the exciting world of computers and mathematics.
I achieved strong grades in Maths and Computer Science at school which gave me a solid foundation to support children with their studies. I understand how challenging it can feel when a subject seems confusing, which is why I focus on making my lessons clear, simple and enjoyable for every child.
I am naturally patient, friendly and encouraging. I genuinely enjoy working with children and seeing that moment when something finally clicks for them — it is the most rewarding feeling.
Outside of my studies I enjoy baking and reading which keeps me creative and motivated. I bring that same energy and enthusiasm into every tutoring session.
Whether your child needs help with primary Maths, 11+ exam preparation or wants to learn basic computer skills and coding, I am here to help them grow in confidence and achieve their goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are fun, friendly and relaxed — designed to build confidence in children rather than just drilling answers. I believe every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student individually.
For Maths and 11+ preparation, I focus on making sure the child truly understands the concept before moving on, using real examples and simple explanations that make topics easy to remember. I use practice papers and past questions to prepare children for exams in a stress-free way.
For Computer Science and basic IT, I make lessons interactive and enjoyable — teaching kids coding, computer basics and digital skills in a way that feels more like fun than studying.
I am currently studying BSc IT and Cybersecurity at university, so I have strong and up-to-date knowledge in technology subjects. I am patient, encouraging and passionate about helping young learners reach their potential.
I offer a free first session so you can see if I am the right fit for your child before committing to regular lessons. Sessions are available online via Zoom or in person in the Stoke-on-Trent area
