About Kolam

I am an experienced ESL tutor with 8 years of teaching High School and College students. I have taught around 150–200 students, helping them achieve their language goals.

My teaching philosophy is to make learning interactive and engaging. I believe students learn better when they are active in class. I use discussions, examples, and practice exercises to keep lessons interesting.

I focus on building confidence as well as skills. Many students are afraid to speak, so I encourage them to practice without fear. I create a positive and motivating learning environment.

One of my achievements is helping students improve quickly through consistent practice and guidance. Many have shown great progress in communication and academics.

I am passionate about teaching and committed to helping students succeed.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for ESL focuses on creativity, critical thinking, mentorship, and accountability to create a complete learning experience. I believe that language learning should be practical, so I use real-life examples, role-play, storytelling, and interactive discussions to make lessons meaningful.

I help students develop critical thinking skills by encouraging them to express their ideas, solve problems, and participate actively. This improves their confidence and ability to communicate clearly in English.

As a mentor, I support my students throughout their learning journey. I take time to understand their strengths and challenges, and I adjust my teaching methods to meet their individual needs. I create a positive and comfortable learning environment.

I also emphasise accountability by setting clear goals and encouraging regular practice. I monitor progress and give detailed feedback to help students improve step by step.

Along with ESL, I teach related subjects to strengthen overall learning. My aim is to build confident speakers, independent thinkers, and successful learners.
