About Carole
I am a native English speaker who specialises in teaching English as a second language (CELTA qualified). I have undertaken volunteer positions in several countries overseas from Palestine to South America and Asia. I have taught a variety of age ranges but prefer to teach adults one to one or in small groups. I am educated to Masters level and have been teaching English as a foreign language for over 5 years. My students always tell me that I'm the person who facilitates their understanding of the language, enabling them to self correct rather than someone who just teaches them new vocabulary...Teaching can be awesome!

My aim is to make English enjoyable through conversation and discussion. I work with everyday language, using a variety of materials to create a relaxed, open and friendly atmosphere. This allows us to focus on fluency and confidence whilst promoting correct pronunciation and correct use of grammar. I like to encourage my students to learn something new whilst studying English, rather than just studying for the sake of studying. English should be educational, not a chore! My discussion topics focus on current affairs, student interests, random theories from the internet - all with the aim of getting students talking and expressing themselves in different ways. We then discuss any new vocabulary or nuances in the language used.

Cancellation fees will be taken on a case by case basis but the standard will be a 50% charge if cancelled within 24hours of the lesson.
