About Komi
I am an experienced language teacher/educator and trainer of teachers of second language learners. Having taught both English and French from K-12 for over 30 years, I have led workshops for educators in New York City Department of Education and also designed and taught graduate courses in ESL and methodology at Touro University for many years. Currently retired from the DOE since March, 2022, I want to continue to help students who can benefit from my knowledge and expertise. I also pride myself as a very knowledgeable and well-rounded educator who believes that education is the greatest equalizer through which as a society, we can develop our individualities and communities for the greater good of humankind.

My English lessons are lively, practical and hands-on. I can teach you all the tricks of the language to develop excellent skills in listening, reading, comprehension and writing at the beginning, intermediate, advanced and native proficiency levels. I will help you discover the fun of all these aspects of language acquisition and mastery through activities that will help you develop your vocabulary and academic writing skills as well. And I do not encourage translation in learning to acquire a second language, therefore all the learning is done in the target language with guaranteed success. Consistency in practice is key to a successful language learning program.
