About Kavita

I have completed an MMath (Hons) Mathematics (2.1) from Manchester Metropolitan University and have a PGCE in Maths Teaching from the University of Huddersfield. Tutoring for 15years from university students to GCSE and IGCSE student. I am passionate about teaching mathematics because I believe it empowers students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are essential in everyday life. Mathematics helps students see the world in a structured, logical way, and I love guiding them through the process of discovery and understanding. Watching students overcome challenges and build confidence in their abilities is incredibly rewarding, and I’m driven by the opportunity to inspire a lifelong love for learning and analytical thinking in each of them. I believe that everyone has the potential to excel in mathematics, regardless of their starting point. I don’t limit anyone’s learning by holding them back from certain topics. Instead, I encourage all students to explore and engage with every concept, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to succeed. With the right support and approach, I’m convinced that every student can thrive in maths.

Availability:

Monday to Friday 6pm - 8pm

Saturday and Sunday 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 8pm

Experience: I have tutored a student who had a target grade F and achieved a C grade at GCSE after one year.
Being a maths teacher has allowed me to adapt teaching to suit the needs of the students.

A student was able to go from a grade 8 to a grade 9 in one year after being tutored by me.

I have worked for WhiteRose maths tutoring maths to students in schools in groups of 3 to 6 students.

About the lesson

My A levels were Maths, Further Maths and Physics. I am a friendly teacher who uses creativity and flexibility to personalise students' learning approach for individual students. Patience and compassion for students as they develop skills and improve their performance. Being a maths teacher has allowed me to adapt teaching to suit the needs of the students. The typical session would be 1 hour long. My priority as a tutor is to make lessons engaging and enjoyable, with the ultimate goal of increasing each student's self-confidence and ability. I tailor my teaching style and homework support depending on the needs of everyone I tutor, as well as providing review tests and feedback to help mark progress. I stretch and challenge students when it comes to Maths because of having a deep understanding of the mathematics involved. I conduct most lessons as individual 1 to 1 sessions. A student has gone from a grade 4 in their GCSE mocks to a grade 7 in one year. Another student went from grade 7 to grade 9 in one year. I have tutored an AS maths student who has received grade A in all the tests. I have tutored a student who had a target grade F and achieved a C grade at GCSE after one year. A student was able to go from a grade 8 to a grade 9 in one year after being tutored by me. I have 2000+ hours of experience tutoring maths privately and in a range of schools from independent, grammar schools and state schools. I currently tutor from year 7 KS3 to degree level of maths, this includes further maths GCSE and A Level Maths. I also do all exam boards for instance the International Maths Papers (IGCSE).
