About Ned
My approach is based on my experience of raising my own GAMSAT score from 63 (in March 2017) to 72 (in March 2018). My section II score increased from 70 to 78. My Section III score increased form 58 to 72.
This was what allowed me to get into medicine at UQ. Breaking the GAMSAT hurdle was my biggest challenge and it is a feeling like no other when you crack it!

Essays (Section II):
I take a timed practice essay of my students, analyse them based on structure, meaning and language and re-write them in a way that demonstrates how to capture the themes of the quotes in 30 minutes. I then work through a session with them to develop their own style and send them on their way to tackle any set of quotes that they face.
Science Section (Section III):
I build the capacity to find key words in questions under serious time pressure and identify which presumed-knowledge scientific concept to apply to a new and unexpected question (these come up a lot in GAMSAT). I have a large range of approaches to each aspect of the science section that involves mastering scientific notation to simplify huge numbers, work quickly with logarithms, interpret graphs with jumbled axes, follow large and confusing organic chemistry diagrams and build confidence with using completely new formulas as they appear in the test.
I aim to work with my students for as many sessions as they desire send them into the test alone with complete confidence and calmness having used my strategies to mould their own approach.
