About Ailidh
I previously graduated with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Glasgow and the University of Manchester in Genetics. I am currently working as a Genetics clinician in the NHS. I have tutored students for a number of years, during the completion of my A-levels and throughout university, as I am passionate about both teaching and science. I consider myself to be a friendly, patient and enthusiastic person, which translates into my teaching. I specialise in Biology, though have tutored students in Psychology, English Language, Chemistry and Contemporary Dance. I have tutored from Key Stage 2 through to A levels, in addition to students at various levels of their undergraduate degrees. If there’s anything I have learnt from tutoring it’s that everybody learns differently! Tutoring sessions are entirely based around your needs so that tutoring sessions work best for you; you will be able to say which topics you wish to study while I will also be checking your understanding of other topics to identify any other areas that you need help with. In the first session I find it particularly helpful to discuss your learning style(s) and ways to help you to get the most out of tutoring. In the past I have focussed heavily on exam technique with lots of past exam paper practice, as past papers are a great way to prepare for exams, improve exam strategies and techniques, and build confidence.
