About Faith
I’m passionate about helping students feel confident and capable in maths, no matter their starting point. I believe that every student can succeed when maths is explained in a simple, friendly, and encouraging way — and that’s exactly what I aim to do. ⸻ I’ve always loved how maths is like a puzzle — and I want to help students see that it doesn’t have to be scary or boring. Growing up, I noticed many students struggled just because no one explained it clearly to them. That’s why I started tutoring: to make maths easier, clearer, and even fun! Helping someone go from “I don’t get it” to “I’ve got this!” is the best feeling — and that’s why I do this.

Lesson Outline: 1. Starter (5 mins) • Quick mental maths warm-up • Simple equation puzzle (e.g. “What number + 4 = 10?”) 2. Introduction (10 mins) • Explain what an equation is • Why we “balance” both sides • Real-life use of equations (e.g. calculating total cost, distance) 3. Main Teaching (20 mins) • Step-by-step demonstration: • One-step equations → x + 5 = 12 • Two-step equations → 3x - 2 = 10 • Highlight common mistakes (e.g. forgetting to change signs) 4. Guided Practice (15 mins) • Work through problems with student • Ask them to explain their thinking 5. Independent Practice (5–10 mins) • Student completes a mini quiz or worksheet • Questions get progressively harder 6. Recap & Feedback (5 mins) • Review key points • Address any questions • Set a small task for next session (optional)
