About Ella Brie
Hello! I am a general chemistry tutor (I took it with Dr. Shusterman at UC Berkeley!) and biology tutor (For Bio 1A and 1AL, I took it with Dr. Lones, Doudna, Gibbs, Gomez, etc.). I will meet you where you're at and never judge you for not knowing something. :) I'll walk you through each step until you understand it and show you shortcuts so minimal effort = maximum results!
I have 10+ years of experience in tutoring at all levels, and will always be there for you for chem/bio help. I completely understand how difficult classes can be especially when you fall behind or if you happen to get the "sucky" professor, so don't worry — I'll simplify those concepts so you can be sure to ace all your exams! At UC Berkeley, I've excelled in General & Organic Chemistry 1& 2, Bio 1A/B, and in high school, I've tutored AP Biology.

I know chemistry and biology can feel overwhelming, especially if you're behind, have a professor whose teaching style just isn't clicking, or feel like everyone else "gets it" except you. I've been there, and I promise this is a judgment-free zone. :)
My lessons are super interactive and personalized to you. Instead of just lecturing, I'll break down difficult concepts into simple, manageable pieces and explain why things work, not just what to memorize. We'll go through problems together step by step until you feel confident doing them on your own.
I also love teaching the shortcuts and patterns that make chemistry and biology so much easier. My goal is always minimal effort = maximum results. We'll focus on understanding the concepts that actually matter, recognizing common exam question types, and building problem-solving skills so you're prepared for quizzes, midterms, and finals—not just homework.
Whether you need help catching up after falling behind, reviewing before an exam, working through practice problems, or strengthening your foundation from the beginning, I'll meet you where you're at. No question is "too basic," and I'll always make sure you leave each lesson understanding more than when you came in.
