About Lena
I previously worked for Kumon for four years, assisting students from the age of five to A-levels in Maths and English. As a result, I have valuable experience in how to communicate with and direct students effectively. I have also worked with both year 1 and year 6 students during my A-levels, so I am familiar with how to plan lessons and the exercises that can be used. I've recently tutored three students taking their Grammar School exams, and they've all been admitted to their preferred schools successfully, so I've gained experience dealing with students one-on-one.

I conduct sessions that are specifically tailored to the content and skills that students choose to work on. My online session will be engaging and informative, and it will be customised to the needs of the students. After the first informal meeting, I believe it is important to understand what the student needs to accomplish during these sessions by asking them what they find challenging and what they enjoy. The lessons will begin with a brief warm-up exercise before moving on to the content that is needed. To ensure a successful session, students can ask questions and voice their concerns about what is being discussed during the session. Exam questions can be used at the end of the session, based on the student's level of research in relation to the specimen, and the student will be asked whether they are satisfied with the goals and objectives covered by rating how confident they feel. The next meeting will be arranged similarly, with a brief recap at the start and a discussion of any work they might have needed to do following the previous meeting.
