About Lauren
I am a second-year Bsc Hons Geography student at the University of Ulster with experience working with young people from many different backgrounds, learning styles, and levels of knowledge on the subject. I have primarily worked on a volunteer basis with children and young people from ages 4 - 18 on a variety of topics, including English, Mathematics, History, and Sciences. However, I am seeking to focus on my passion of Geography and Environmental sciences.

My motto is that to understand is to learn. Modern schooling systems teach students that simply remembering a text is synonymous with learning; leading to short term recollection but not long term understanding. This can reflect poorly in grades and leave students feeling frustrated that they are not achieving their full potential.
My teaching method focuses on true understanding of topics, as well as an in-depth explanation of the examination and/or coursework style that is required of them. I achieve this by breaking down the examination process into keywords and what they are asking a student, as well as helping them with timing and wording of answers to ensure they don't lose out on marks they are entitled to.
