About Jessica
Hi! I’m a soon-to-be graduate with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology, with a strong background in biology, chemistry, math, forensic science, and ecology. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand challenging concepts and making learning feel less overwhelming.
Outside of academics, I’ve spent several years coaching youth in different sports, which has helped me build strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach. I’ll also be entering a Bachelor of Education program in Fall 2026, as I’m passionate about teaching and supporting student success.
I strive to create a positive and comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is to help you not only improve your grades, but also feel more confident and capable in your learning.

My teaching approach is student-centered and adaptable. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while using examples that are relevant and engaging. I encourage active participation by asking questions, checking for understanding, and guiding students to think critically rather than simply memorizing information. I also aim to build confidence by creating a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material to reinforce understanding, followed by identifying the student’s goals for the session. I then introduce or revisit key concepts using clear explanations and worked examples. Students are given the opportunity to practice with guidance, and I provide feedback and strategies to improve. I like to end each session with a summary of what was learned and, if helpful, practice questions or tips for independent study.
My combination of strong academic knowledge and hands-on experience working with youth allows me to connect with students and adapt my approach to meet their individual needs. Through coaching, I have developed patience, clear communication skills, and the ability to motivate students to learn. I am approachable, supportive, and committed to helping students build both their understanding of the material and their confidence as learners.
