About Kelly

Who I Am

I’m Kelly, an Irish secondary school teacher with a degree in Religious Education and English Teaching from Dublin City University. Alongside teaching, I write poetry and songs, and I’m an avid reader and traveler, always drawn to new stories and new places. I love bringing that curiosity and creativity into how I help others learn language and express themselves.

Why I Love to Teach

I love watching a learner move from hesitant to confident, whether that’s a child working through a tricky piece of homework or an adult finding the words to say what they actually mean. Teaching to me isn’t just about getting the right answer; it’s about building the routines, trust, and small wins that make someone want to keep learning. That’s something I’ve focused on throughout my training, including researching how structured routines help students stay engaged and motivated.

About the lesson

I’m a young Irish secondary school teacher with a background in English, Literature and Religious Education, and I’ve taught learners from age 9 through to adults. I have a more neutral accent, which makes my English clear and easy to follow for learners of all backgrounds.

My tutoring covers:

• Homework and academic support - helping students build the underlying grammar, comprehension, and writing skills behind their coursework, not just getting through the task in front of them

• Cultural and language exchange - conversation-based sessions that build real-world fluency and confidence, ideal for adults wanting to improve workplace communication, prepare for life or travel abroad, or simply feel more at ease speaking English day to day

• Confidence building - a relaxed, judgment-free space to make mistakes and practice speaking freely, which is often the biggest barrier for adult learners returning to language learning

• Flexible, personalized sessions - tailored to your goals, whether that’s exam preparation, workplace English, or general fluency, with materials and pace adjusted to suit you

Whether you’re a parent looking for homework support for your child, or an adult wanting to build conversational confidence for work, travel, or everyday life, I tailor each session to the individual learner.
