About Lourens
I am a graduate mechanical engineer, working in the energy management industry. I am currently doing my post-graduate studies at the University of Pretoria. I have worked in Turkey, designing conveyor belts and at the university as a Physics Laboratory Demonstrator. I get most happy when I see someone understand something that they initially thought was complicated.

I enjoy being interactive. I first start with preparing for a class, to ensure the lesson will be very structured. During and after the lesson will ask the student quite a lot of questions to gauge what concepts the feel comfortable with. Even though I enjoy structure I try not to be overly formal because I want the student to feel comfortable and encouraged. My passion for the subject naturally makes me a very encouraging tutor.
