About Isabella

I am a graduate of the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Psychology. I have been fascinated by the biological sciences since I was very young, and am always striving to learn and grow more in my knowledge. While in college I led many tutoring and study sessions for my peers, and discovered that I loved to teach others and watch them grasp new concepts. I was a research assistant for three years during undergrad, and have a great deal of experience with collecting data, interpreting it, and applying it to the real world. Upon graduating I worked as an ESOL Teaching Assistant in a nearby high school, and worked with students struggling with Biology and Algebra. I then moved back to my hometown of Bear, Delaware where I worked in the biotechnology field at International Flavors and Fragrances. Throughout my professional career I have worked with students and people of all ages, and have always loved introducing them to the beautiful and fascinating world of Biology!

About the lesson

My tutoring lessons are structured to fit the needs of the students I am working with, whether they need practice and review, or supplemental instruction. All students have different learning styles, so my goal is always to figure out how each of my students learns best, and create content that caters specifically to them. I am very passionate about the biological sciences and love to share this excitement and passion with my students. I strive to keep my lessons interesting and relevant, using real world examples as much as possible, while still adhering to the topic at hand. I also strongly believe that there is no such thing as a “foolish question”, and encourage my students to be inquisitive about science, while encouraging them to let me know when they have questions or need me to explain something in a different manner.
