About Barnaby
I'm a professional actor, playwright and producer with over half a decade's experience in the industry. I trained at one of the top 5 Drama schools in the country, upon graduating I signed with United Agents.
Since then, I've worked a recurring role in Netflix's The A-list, the RSC, and most recently, a leading part in the feature film by Oscar Winner Theo Green.
As a playwright, I've staged 3 plays to critical acclaim in London and produced the 5 Star smash hit, The Name, by Nobel-Prize Winner Jon Fosse. Alongside this, I was the literary associate for the Olivier Award Winning Marylebone Theatre, where I established and ran their writers group.

I take an individual approach to coaching. Every actor has different strengths, habits and obstacles, so I tailor sessions to the individual rather than relying on a single method.
Many actors can create a character, analyse a script and make strong choices. The harder task is remaining present enough for those choices to feel as though they are happening for the first time. This is often the difference between a performance that is technically good and one that truly moves an audience.
Therefore, I'm less interested in character, and more interested in what you would do in this moment. How you would respond. Then the character is allowed to be revealed, rather than being an 'idea'.
My goal is to give you a clear structure for approaching a role, and then help you let go of that structure when performing. Sessions typically begin with work on the body and voice before moving into text analysis, character, action and scene work.
I also take a strong interest in the psychological side of performance, helping actors work through nerves, self-consciousness, stage fright and creative blocks.
Whether you're preparing for drama school auditions, self-tapes, professional castings, or a role you've already booked, my focus remains the same: helping you build the confidence, freedom and presence to do truthful work in the moment.
Beginners and experienced actors are equally welcome.
I generally recommend 90-minute sessions, as they allow enough time to explore the work in depth, though one-hour sessions are also available.
