About Nidhi

Kia ora! My name is Nidhi, and I am a passionate and dedicated teacher. I believe that every child can be successful in mathematics when they are provided with the right support, encouragement, and learning opportunities.

My teaching approach focuses on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and helping students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

I have experience working with learners from diverse backgrounds and adapting lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles. Whether a student needs help strengthening foundational skills, catching up with classroom learning, or extending their mathematical thinking, I tailor my lessons to help them achieve their goals.

As a teacher, I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students develop not only their mathematical abilities but also the confidence and resilience needed to become independent learners. My aim is to make mathematics engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable for every student.

I look forward to supporting students on their learning journey and helping them discover that they are capable of success in mathematics.

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching

I believe that every learner can succeed in mathematics when concepts are taught in a clear, engaging, and supportive way. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence, developing problem-solving skills, and helping students understand the "why" behind mathematical concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures.

Teaching Techniques and Methodology
Lessons are tailored to each student's individual learning needs, strengths, and goals.
I use hands-on activities, visual representations, real-life examples, and interactive problem-solving tasks to make mathematics meaningful and accessible.
Concepts are broken down into manageable steps, with plenty of opportunities for guided practice and independent application.
I provide regular feedback and use a positive, encouraging approach to help students build confidence and develop a growth mindset.
For younger learners, I incorporate games and engaging activities to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
Typical Length of a Lesson
Standard lessons are 60 minutes.
Longer sessions can be arranged for students preparing for assessments or requiring additional support.
Lessons can be delivered individually or in small groups.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified teacher with experience teaching mathematics across primary and intermediate school levels.
Experience working with students from diverse learning backgrounds and supporting learners at different stages of mathematical development.
Strong understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and effective teaching practices in numeracy and mathematics.
Skilled in identifying learning gaps and designing targeted instruction to accelerate student progress.
