About Max
When I was younger, I struggled at school to learn subjects I had no interest in due to my undiagnosed ADHD. To get around that, I had to teach myself a lot using unorthodox techniques that my teachers failed to use. I understand the struggles of banging your head against a brick wall when trying to learn something, and I was lucky to be able to teach myself to succeed, though admittedly it was hardly easy, hence why I'm here to help. I'd like to bring the patience and positivity my teachers failed to show me, as so I can help you succeed. I like to think of myself as calm and relaxed, always ready to try and tackle things from a different approach, as everyone tends to have their own style of learning. Ultimately I want you to to find that style and then to challenge it, so you can reinforce that technique and make for a brighter future.

Lessons are intended to last around an hour or so, thus concentration doesn't waver or too much is taught at once. I tend to take a personalised and creative approach, focusing on positive reinforcement and individualised methods that allow the topics to make sense. Commonly, joint-made diagrams or analogies can help get complicated points across in these topics, even more so with direct involvement by the student.
I have had experience using these methods with several students between the ages of 14-16, in which the students passed their GCSEs despite a lack of interest or prior performance in the subjects taught. I am happy to tutor any student in the GCSE - A level range regardless of the level of interest in the topic.
