About India
India is an actor and dance-artist based in South London. She has worked across stage, screen and theatre, choosing to tell stories via the combination of speech, demanding physicality and astute characterisation. Her creative explorations are whimsical and highly dynamic, and have led her to work with the likes of renowned company Nonsuch Theatre (where she co-devised a physicalised version of Chekhov’s Three Sisters.) India recently has filmed 'What We Wish You'd Known,' a short film portraying what it is for young queer people exploring their identities. India regularly teaches and works with young people at Lewisham Youth Theatre to develop their physical, emotional and creative practice. India recently performed at Move It 2026, and has just finished the R&D of her own play, PURE EVIL with her acclaimed company Junk Theatre (offie-nominated, winners of Fuse Festival 2024.)

I use a combination of Uta Hagen and Stanislavskian principles in my teaching.
We will first start by establishing the key tone shifts in your piece, as any good monologue performance must take the audience on a journey.
We will then establish the given circumstances, followed by a few somatic exercises to help you 'meet' these circumstances in an emotional sense, and find how you can personally connect with this speech.
We will chunk the monologue into manageable sections before piecing it together and finding an exciting trajectory, supported by technical input by me.
