About ODUNAYO
Chemistry is very simple.
For example, unripe fruits taste sour because they contain acids.
What is an Acid?
An acid is a substance that, when dissolved in water, produces hydrogen ions H^+ as the only positive ions.
Many unripe fruits contain acids that give them a sour taste.
Acids are responsible for the sour taste in many foods.
Examples of Acids in Food:
Food Acid Present
Orange, Lemon Citric acid
Palm oil Palmitic acid
Milk, Yogurt Lactic acid
Vinegar Acetic acid
Cashew fruit Tannic acid
The sour taste you feel in these foods comes from the hydrogen(H^+) ions they release.
