About Emily
Hello! My name is Emily, and I am a substitute teacher who works closely with students to help them build confidence and strong foundational skills in mathematics. I hold a Bachelor's degree in General Psychology and am currently completing my degree in secondary mathematics education.
My teaching journey includes valuable experience working in the Exceptional Children field, which deeply shaped my instructional approach. Because of this background, I understand that every student learns differently, and I excel at adapting my methods, pacing, and tools to meet your unique needs.
Whether you are looking to master specific math concepts, get ahead for the upcoming school year, or simply build your confidence, I am here to help. I love incorporating interactive strategies into my lessons to make math both engaging and accessible. My ultimate goal is to create a supportive, patient environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and growing as a learner. Let's work together to achieve your math goals!

My goal as a tutor is to make learning math engaging, accessible, and tailored to your unique learning style. My teaching method focuses on building a strong foundational understanding while boosting your confidence through active participation and patience. A typical lesson with me starts with a brief review of previous material or a warm-up. Next, I introduce new concepts using clear, relatable examples. We then move into guided practice, where we work through exercises together to ensure you fully grasp the mechanics before you tackle independent work. I always leave time at the end to answer questions and set goals for our next session.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my adaptability. I know that no two students learn in exactly the same way, so I constantly adjust my techniques, pacing, and materials to fit what clicks best for you.
