About Leisa

Teaching music is rarely about the notes on the page and mostly about the silence between them. My RAM degree taught me that the conservatory path is only useful if you can actually translate those skills to a real audience.

I work with students who need practical improvisation and soloing alongside solid chord transitions. Ear training and lead guitar work are central to my method.

I also cover tuning and maintenance, reading tabs, reading sheet music, rhythm guitar, scales and modes, and acoustic technique. I learned how to bridge the gap between academic theory and stage performance, and I enjoy helping others navigate that same transition. I am here to make sure you sound like a musician, not a textbook.

Do you ever find yourself struggling to maintain momentum when you hit a difficult chord change? I begin every new relationship with a diagnostic skills check before building the lesson plan to ensure we target your actual weaknesses rather than your perceived ones. My experience as a RAM graduate means I prioritise long term retention over short term gains. We focus heavily on deliberate practice and spacing because that is how information sticks in the brain.

The goal is to ensure the technique holds up perfectly even when I am not sitting in the room with you. We will focus on getting the fundamentals of your acoustic technique settled before moving forward.
