About Mark

I am a mature, professional and experienced IT trainer with fifteen years experience in IT training, including Microsoft and other platforms. Otherwise I have worked in IT consultancy and development in both public and private sectors. I am based in the northern part of Bristol, England.

About the lesson

Hands-on Excel training for adult learners for professional, technical or academic purposes. So if you're a student or an engineer, whether you work in finance or in other numerate profession, I can help you get more out of Excel.

With my online lessons, we share control of the keyboard and mouse so that hands-on literally means hands-on. And you will get a copy of the workbook after each lesson to that you can keep practising.

Do you need to manage large and/or complex datasets?
Have you ever wondered how to do drop-down lists, pivot tables and lookups? Or wondered how to do complicated graphs? Need to know about all the complexities of conditional formatting and all the variations of IF? And what about date calculations?
Or have you just wondered how you can get more out of Excel.
We can do all this and a lot more.

Lessons typically one hour long.
I have a degree in Software Engineering and an Award in Education and Training.

Deadly! Mark explained everything really well, he really knows his stuff, it was easy for me to follow and I learnt a lot, he’s got me through my reassessment which I have to pass to pass my first year of Uni, I find excel a struggle but I feel much more confident now, brilliant tutor, thanks Mark!

Mark explained everything really well, he really knows his stuff, it was easy for me to follow and I learnt a lot, he’s got me through my reassessment which I have to pass to pass my first year of Uni, I find excel a struggle but I feel much more confident now, brilliant tutor, thanks Mark!

Deadly! Mark was a brilliant, intuitive tutor. He adapted his extensive experience of creating graphs from crime datasets in his previous work as a police lecturer to my PhD requirements for categories of German literature read over the last century. He was very patient, and his explanations were absolutely clear to follow. He would think outside the box and outside our study sessions as to how to tackle complicated representations of excel data for maximum visual impact. He has made a tremendous difference to my work. I recommend him highly and most warmly.

We discussed my business needs, he made proposals and together we designed an excellent website.

Over the years the website has been updated and tweaked and Mark has always been very obliging and fast to respond.

He has a tremendous knowledge of technology, which he shares with ease. He explains everything and he doesn't use unnecessary jargon.
