About Sam

A degree educated Registered Nurse with over 5 years healthcare experience. Recent work settings include community (district) nursing, primary care and unscheduled/ OOH care, latterly as a Nurse Practitioner. Currently a Senior Charge Nurse responsible for operational delivery of a national triage service.

In addition to being a practising clinician, currently also a postgraduate researcher with experience designing a qualitative study and a PGCert in Research Methods.

Qualified Practice Supervisor for Nursing/AHP students.

Member of Institute of Health and Social Care Management (MIHSCM), Associate Member of the Royal Society for Public Health (AMRSPH), Nurse Affiliate Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine and Member of the Primary Care Diabetes Society.

Recipient of multiple university awards. Finalist in RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards.

About the lesson

Student driven approach, sessions can be tailored to individual needs and learning styles. Can assist with assignments, essay planning, presentation design and literature searching. Demonstration of clinical skills and techniques may also be available. All teaching will be based upon current best practice and supported by recent research and Quality Improvement works.

Deadly! Sam has helped over the last few months with my nursing degree dissertation. Sam has guided me through all the learning objectives helped me with referencing and how to correctly put my dissertation together. Sam is very patient when explaining ways of writing and has given me the confidence and ability to write better academic essays. Sam is a great tutor talks through any problems breaks things down any issues to help with understanding in a kind and engaging way. I would recommend Sam for any tutoring needs, his tutoring has helped me to progress through my last hurdle of my nursing degree I can’t thank Sam enough.

Deadly! Sam was absolutely amazing in helping me correct my essay in such little time! I was a 2nd year paramedic student struggling with correcting a failed essay, sam was brilliant giving me pointers and tips on what I could add in or change and even just telling me where I'd gone wrong with my referencing. He was a massive help and I couldn't recommend him enough as I passed, I'm now onto my final year and will definitely be arranging more sessions for my upcoming exams!
