About Ria
Hi! I am currently a Grade 12 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma student at White Oaks Secondary School with a strong passion for helping younger students succeed academically.
Having navigated rigorous academic coursework myself—including high-level Biology, Economics, and English—I understand firsthand where students tend to get stuck and how to overcome those roadblocks. Beyond my own studies, I am actively involved in school leadership, peer helping, and mentoring younger students in the community.
My goal as a tutor isn't just to help with homework, but to help students develop self-belief and study skills they need to excel independently in school.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor my teaching approach to fit your child's unique needs and pace. Whether they need help keeping up with daily classwork, preparing for upcoming tests, or filling in foundational gaps from previous grades, I create a patient, supportive, and structured environment.
My teaching process includes:
Concept Breakdown: Step-by-step explanations using practical examples so complex ideas in Math or Science feel intuitive.
Interactive Practice: Working through problems together, then guiding the student to solve them independently to build genuine confidence.
Strong Study Habits: Teaching effective time management, note-taking, and problem-solving strategies that I use daily as an advanced student.
I provide tutoring for Grades 1 through 10 in Math, English, and General Science. Sessions can be held online or in person (at a local library).
