About Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley! I’m a current high school Biology teacher with a degree in Health Science, and I specialize in both standard and AP Biology. My goal is to help students feel confident in their understanding of science—whether they’re reviewing the basics or tackling college-level content. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, and proven test strategies to make complex topics easier to grasp. As someone actively teaching in the classroom, I know how Biology is taught and tested today, and I bring that real-world insight to every session. As a tutor, I focus on meeting students where they’re at—whether they’re in standard Biology or aiming for a 5 on the AP Bio exam. I break complex ideas into manageable parts using visuals, real-world examples, and strategies that help the info stick. I also teach how to approach tricky test questions and write strong free responses with confidence.
A typical session starts with a check-in or warm-up to see what the student needs. Then I guide them through a short lesson, practice problems, and review—always leaving time for questions. I adapt my style based on how each student learns best. What sets me apart is that I’m a current high school Biology teacher, so I understand exactly how these topics are taught and tested. My lessons are great for any high schooler in Biology or AP Biology who wants better understanding, higher scores, and more confidence in science.
