About Jamie

I have been delivering private tuition for beginners to professionals in dance technique for 10 years, throughout that time I have also trained as a Yoga practitioner, gathering tonnes of advice and experience to offer. I first began my training in Hatha and Bikram Yoga over 5 years ago now, I absolutely fell in love with the hot yoga personally, it always soothed my aching dancer muscles. I had really found my zen when I took my yoga practice to the next level. I would practice twice a day every day for almost 3 years. I couldn't get enough of the way it allowed my brain and body to synchronise, relax and unwind. Now I still practice daily to keep my body limber, relax the mind of a busy Londoner and celebrate the honour of Yoga!

About the lesson

I teach at Create and Destroy studios in Islington + £20 per hour I work with my students as I do in my own practice, I teach with compassion and encouragement. I also believe it's important to deliver the knowledge behind each posture, explaining the benefits that the yoga postures are delivering to us as we practice, also to help my students correct their postures and alignment, I like to be vocal through the practice in each pose, reminding my students to constantly grow and breathe through the pose. Helping to achieve fantastic postures and a rejuvenating practice. I deliver a range of different exercises within Yoga including: Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin. All helping to improve your cardiovascular system, support your immune system, detox internal organs, improve flexibility, gain overall strength and instil a sense of peace and calm within the mind. I like to work with my students on a consistent basis. For this reason I would suggest a minimum of weekly classes to help you establish your own understanding of Yoga and the Asanas. I also offer a variety of HIIT training classes for students wanting to pursue pure fitness training and strengthening. Deadly! My first session with Jamie was excellent. She listened to what was going on with me and took that into account in our practice. She challenged me but gently, She asked what I wanted. Not to mention the wide range of genres she covers, I've been able to practice my contemporary dance routines but also strengthen my physical strength with Yoga exercises. We recorded some of our session so I have been able to practice in the downtime which has been amazing. Will definitely be booking more classes!
