About Kannika Siddharudha
I hold a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology Engineering and a Master’s in Food Science from the University of Queensland. During my degree, I completed a 7-month internship in mammalian cell culture at Himalaya Drug Company, which gave me valuable hands-on research and industry skills. My passion for science grew during COVID, when I realized I wanted to work in a field that directly impacts people’s everyday lives. That vision led me to food science, where I now work in New Product Development, creating innovative and affordable products that improve people’s experiences with food. I enjoy sharing this mix of academic knowledge and real-world experience with students, making complex concepts like genetics, microbiology, and molecular biology clear, practical, and engaging.

I have a strong foundation in Biotechnology Engineering and hands-on experience from my 7-month internship in mammalian cell culture at Himalaya Drug Company, where I learned how scientific concepts are applied in real research and industry.
