About Venice

My name is Venice Billia and I am a teacher, actor and playwright based in London. I have had actor training both in the UK and in Greece, where I was born and raised, in the Rontidis Drama School, one of the most acclaimed drama schools in Greece, where I got to be trained in multiple areas of performance, including acting, playwriting and improvisation. My experience in both countries has exposed me to different forms of theatre, giving me a wider perspective and knowledge around the field, including foundational knowledge of Greek theatre, which is the base of performance development. I would love to share that knowledge and my passion for theatre with other like-minded students, whether it is to help them reach their goals in the creative industry, or simply to explore a new field and enjoy learning a new skill.

About the lesson

My practice includes character work for performance, analysing basic elements and structures of storytelling and developing ideas into scripts. I teach both classic methods, such as Stanislavski and Artaud, or Keith Johnstone in the case of improvisation, and modern practitioners such as Katie Mitchell. My background allows me to be flexible both with my students and my areas and methods of teaching.
