About Ilyas
As someone who has spent a lot time at school and university, I am very familiar with the academic challenges students face.
This academic experience has taught me that anything can be taught to anyone, so long as one is patient enough and doesn't stick to old techniques of teaching.
I have also been an amateur programmer for a long time. With interests in AI, philosophy and the history of ideas. Thinking about intersections between vastly different areas of study has taught me that there are a lot of patterns that can be discovered and studied. Everything is worth studying.
You would be surprised at how poetic math and logic are and how intuitive mathematical reasoning can be.

I believe in step by step acquisition of knowledge, because creativity comes from mastery of fundamentals. I am not here to give tricks but I'm here to make sure a student acquires the necessary tools to see why certain techniques are more useful than others.
Achieving autonomy in students is my goal since the beginning of my teaching career.
I always kick off my lessons with discovery activities. Slowly building concepts on solid ground. And finally I make sure the concepts are used and reused in multiple situations.
Putting students in challenging situations in which they seek the solution themselves is one of my main techniques when it comes to teaching a new concept.
My favorite subjects to teach would be logic and algebra.
