About Justin

Is your child struggling with chemistry? I can help. Hi, I'm Justin G., a tutor based out of Los Angeles, California. I graduated with honors in both of my degrees, including an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, Science and Mathematics, and I'm a member of multiple honor societies. I started teaching as a college aide for Long Beach Unified School District in 2021, and since then I've worked as a private tutor, recreational aide, youth development professional, and Project Specialist at Coastline College in Newport Beach. I teach English, math, physics, chemistry, and history — anything up to high school level. I recently helped a high school student work through chemical reactions and nuclear chemistry (like beta decay), so I know how to break these topics down until they click. My physics background overlaps a lot with chemistry too, which helps. With 6+ years of teaching experience, I happily teach little kids too — we keep things patient, fun, and encouraging.

About the lesson

Chemistry starts making sense once you see how the pieces fit together — I help you understand the 'why' behind reactions, not just memorize formulas. With 6+ years of teaching experience, I work with students from elementary through high school on everything from atoms and the periodic table to chemical reactions and basic nuclear chemistry. My lessons are patient and conversational: we work through problems step by step, use real-world examples that stick, and go at your pace. I'm happy to help with homework, lab write-ups, and test prep. I also love teaching little kids — we keep things fun and hands-on so science feels exciting, not intimidating.
