About Joshua
About me? I am a lifelong history buff that spent nearly 15 years patching individuals up working in Health Care. Now I spend my time teaching young individuals about History and Biology, while spending my summers working at museums performing restoration work. I have a passion for the history of life and what has contributed to the society we currently live in. Restoring and bringing the past back so we can experience and witness it again is very important to me. I hope through teaching I can inspire the next generation to contribute to the conservation of our history too.

As a teacher, I enjoy the Socratic method of teaching. My lessons usually focus on discussions of the material, drawing the material out of the student by letting them think critically.
History requires being able to think critically and debating the merits of a historical figure or historical event is a great way to practice that process. History is not about exact dates, it's about understanding why something happened. What led to the events that occurred, who was responsible, what social changes occurred because of it? I give students the tools to think and discover, at the end of my lessons I want students to feel inspired to discover even further.
