About Fatima

I am a qualified teacher with an Honours Degree and a speciality in Curriculum Development and Leadership and Management. I have taught a variety of subjects including Maths and Science to Intermediate Phase learners ( Grades 5 -7 ) for 9 years in South Africa. My career was further enhanced in the UAE where I taught English, Maths and Science to Foundation Phase learners. This not only broadened my scope for teaching Second Language Learners but also equipped me with a variety of skills especially STEM related concepts which promote critical and creative thinking as well as design thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship skills. I have developed a passion for online teaching and learning and use a plethora of different applications; games; audio and visual content to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. I consider myself to be a well-rounded individual who is dedicated to imparting my knowledge, skills and expertise to you in such a way that you view learning not as a chore but as a fun platform for bringing out your natural abilities and projecting them to the world to achieve the success that you deserve.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development which narrows the distance between learner's actual and potential development through adult intervention. I also use Vygotsky's advanced scaffolding method which focuses on creating learning experiences that are intriguing and merge it with the STEM ideology to incorporate design thinking, critical and creative thinking as well as collaboration and communication skills to enhance cognitive understanding of real-world problems and possible solutions to them.

I have taught Maths, Science and English to Grades 2, 5, 6 and 7 learners at different intervals over the past 14 years. My lessons cater for all learning levels and learning styles. My lessons offer loads of fun activities, games and songs and repetition for emphasis that enhance cognitive and critical thinking abilities and create a foundation for retention of concepts.

24 hours notice must be given. A 50 % charge will still apply for lessons that are cancelled.

If you bring in 5 friends to join, you will get a discounted fee of R 120 per lesson which equates to :
