About Marian

I’m Marian, a former Quant Researcher at J.P. Morgan and a current Master’s student in Financial Engineering at Imperial College London. I graduated top of my class in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, and from June I will be joining Goldman Sachs and BlackRock in quantitative roles. My academic and professional background allows me to teach with both strong theoretical understanding and real-world insight.

Alongside my studies and industry experience, I have built a strong track record in teaching. I have tutored throughout high school, taught finance to more than 100 university students, and taught Python to over 80 students. These experiences have helped me develop a professional, patient, and adaptable teaching style that works across different ages, levels, and learning goals.

Students can expect lessons that are well prepared, clear, and tailored to their needs. I take pride in being reliable, approachable, and genuinely invested in each student’s progress. Whether you are aiming to improve your grades, strengthen your understanding, or prepare for exams, interviews, or university applications, I will always aim to provide high-quality support in a structured and encouraging environment.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is practical, structured, and tailored to each student. I’m Marian, and I teach by combining clear explanations with lots of guided practice, so students not only understand the theory but also learn how to apply it confidently in exams, coursework, interviews, or real problem-solving. I like to break difficult ideas down into simple steps, using intuitive and sometimes more innovative explanations when standard methods are not clicking.

My lessons are interactive and adapted to the student’s level and goals. A typical lesson is usually 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the subject and the student’s needs. In each class, I focus on building strong fundamentals, working through examples together, and then giving students the chance to solve problems independently with support. I also help students develop exam technique, logical thinking, and confidence.

I can teach students at all levels, from school and sixth form through to university. This includes maths, computing, Python, finance, and other STEM-related subjects. I have tutored throughout high school, taught finance to more than 100 university students, and taught Python to over 80 students. My background includes quantitative research at J.P. Morgan, a Master’s in Financial Engineering at Imperial, and graduating top of my class in Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh.

My lessons are for students of a wide range of ages and abilities: GCSE, A-level, university students, and adult learners who want to strengthen their maths, coding, or quantitative skills. Whether you want to improve grades, prepare for exams, build technical confidence, or go beyond the syllabus, I aim to make lessons challenging, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable.
