About Mariam
I am a highly experienced, current gap year student holding a deferred Oxford physics place with a track record of academic success outside and inside the classroom including 5A*s at A-level (in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology), Top Gold in the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO), Top 5 in the BPhO Computational Challenge, Diamond in the IsaacPhysics Senior Physics Challenge and being part of the Oxford Quantum Club. I am passionate about education and eager to share my knowledge. Coming to the UK at the start of my GCSEs, I understand how stressful it is to struggle with a subject, feel like you lack the background knowledge and feel unable to meet your goals. However, I also have first-hand experience that with the right support system, your ambitions are achievable and I hope to be this support for you.

I have had prolonged experience tutoring younger students and peers of various mathematical abilities, helping them achieve the results they need. Ensuring in-depth understanding, going at the student's own pace, and offering plenty of opportunities for practice are the three core values that I aim to uphold in every tutoring session. Regarding university admissions, in addition to receiving 5/5 offers myself, I have provided one-to-one mentorship to numerous students, supporting them with university choices, super-curriculars, personal statements, admissions tests and interviews. Furthermore, I have provided detailed reviews of personal statements to 15+ students, including line-by-line analysis and actionable suggestions for improvement, achieving a 100% satisfaction rate. In our first lesson, we will start by discussing your goals (achieving an A*, developing mathematical fluency, being faster on MCQs, preparing for interviews or anything else!) and assessing your current level in relation to those goals so that I can best cater the lessons.
