About Joseph
Hi! I'm Joe, an undergraduate at the University of Warwick tutoring GCSE and A-Level Maths and/or Economics from a state school background. I achieved A*s in both of these subjects at A-Level. I emphasise understanding concepts and building exam confidence with lots of practice, guiding students step by step with questions and then building their independence.
For GCSE and A-Level students. Lessons are flexible to suit your schedule, typically lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
My lessons are simple but effective, using a straightforward process:
1. Showing you how I tackle problems to build understanding
2. Allowing you to practise questions
3. Giving you feedback and tips
4. Building your confidence and independence
5. Practise, practise, practise!
For Economics, we'll break down concepts to consolidate your understanding, build reliable revision materials, nail the exam structure, and practise real exam scenarios.

Maths
I'll be honest: I'm not one of those people who's always found maths easy. It was only right before my GCSEs that it clicked, and I figured out how to learn and practise maths in a way that made sense. Since then, I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and an A* in A-Level Maths.
Here's how I'll help you:
- Understanding and breaking questions down rather than simply memorising methods
- Doing lots of practice to develop familiarity and confidence for the exam. I'll go through loads of questions step by step, breaking them down and showing you how to tackle them. Then you can have a go.
- After I show you how a question is done, I'll give you lots of similar questions to do yourself until you feel confident doing them on your own.
Economics
- Understanding tricky concepts so they actually make sense
- Building clear, effective revision materials
- Nailing the structure of exam questions to get top marks
