About Katy
Hi- I'm Katy, a second year Nutrition and Dietetics student at Uni of Nottingham! I chose my course because I really enjoyed biology and chemistry at school and these make up a vital part of my degree, especially human biology and biochemistry. I also love working with and helping other people, and this course allows me to combine this with my interest in health and nutrition. I have been tutoring online for a year now, and am really enjoying it (as I hope my pupils are too!) and always try to push my pupils to reach their full potential. I have experience in turning Chemistry and Biology to GCSE level, and Nutrition to A level.

I value an individualistic style of learning as I appreciate that everyone has different learning styles, abilities and things that they have concerns or need support with. In structuring my sessions, I aim to cover content that you need support with, and then build on this such as by sharing revision tips, study methods and then look at exam technique and possible questions, such as by looking at past paper questions together- a method I still find very helpful when I am revising.
Prior to sessions, I hope to work with you in order to identity areas that you want to work on, and then we can plan and build upon this with future sessions if needed, and in these we can recap and strengthen this knowledge. I also hope to structure my sessions closely to the specification you are following as I find this the most efficient way of learning and helps you prepare for you exam. However, I also aim to be flexible to your needs and able to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns you may have.
Underpinning this, I want to make my sessions enjoyable and engaging for you, and always appear supportive and understanding to your needs. I hope that you come out of our sessions feeling confident, happy and engaged in your subject and can develop skills that will be invaluable throughout your education.
