About Alejandra

I'm a Chilean Actress and Theatre Director, graduated with Honours from the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) in 2008 from Universidad ARCIS; and from Masters of Theatre (Directing) in 2012 from Universidad de Chile, through an awarded scholarship.

I've worked in Performing Arts for more than 10 years, with experience in different projects, both public and private, and both independent and funded by the Council of Culture of the Government of Chile. Also I've been a Drama Teacher and Artistic Producer.

Since October 2017, I've been part of the Company The Bridge - Teatro Latino (Melbourne, Australia), where we presented ‘Redoble Fúnebre para Lobos y Corderos’ and ‘Beasts’ (Based on ‘Las Brutas’), both written by the prominent Chilean playwright Juan Radrigán. ‘Beasts’ was presented at La Mama Theatre under the MELBOURNE FRINGE FESTIVAL 2018. Also I've been doing Drama Workshops in Spanish since that date.

Soy actriz chilena y directora de teatro, graduada con honores del Bachillerato en Bellas Artes (Actuación) en 2008 de la Universidad ARCIS; y de Maestría en Teatro (Dirección) en 2012 de la Universidad de Chile, a través de una beca otorgada.

He trabajado en artes escénicas durante más de 10 años, con experiencia en diferentes proyectos, tanto públicos como privados, y tanto independientes como financiados por el Consejo de Cultura del Gobierno de Chile. También he sido profesora de drama y productora artístico.

Desde octubre de 2017, formé parte de la Compañía The Bridge - Teatro Latino (Melbourne, Australia), donde presentamos "Redoble Fúnebre para Lobos y Corderos"; y "Beasts" (Basado en "Las Brutas"), ambos escritos por El destacado dramaturgo chileno Juan Radrigán. "Bests" se presentó en el Teatro La Mama en el MELBOURNE FRINGE FESTIVAL 2018. También he estado dictando talleres de teatro en español desde esa fecha.

About the lesson

Although I have an idea of the initial structure, I base my classes on what I perceive as the needs of my students; how their unique voices, bodies and biographies allow that space for creation. I follow my intuition in the moment and guide people to connect with themselves (and with others).

Teachings can include vocal and body expression, theatre games, improvisation, creativity, creating characters, basic and advanced performing techniques.

Aunque tengo una idea de estructura inicial, baso mis clases en lo que percibo como las necesidades de mis alumnos. Sus voces, cuerpos, y biografías únicas permiten ese espacio para la creación. Sigo mi intuición en el momento y guío a las personas a conectarse con ellos mismos (y con los demás).

Los contenidos de las clases pueden incluir expresión vocal y corporal, juegos teatrales, improvisación, creatividad, creación de personajes, y técnicas básicas y avanzadas de actuación.
